The 1910 Edinburgh World Missionary Conference and Establishing the Korean Missiology : Centering around Analyzing the Materials for the International Missionary Conference of Korea 2010 Celebrating Centennial of 1910 Edinburgh World Missionary Conference

The article suggests some missiological tasks for establishing the Korean missiology, analyzing materials and resources for the International Missionary Conference of Korea 2010 (IMCK 2010) Celebrating Centennial of 1910 Edinburgh World Missionary Conference. Its methodology is to analyze the materials of the IMCK 2010 and to compare some concepts of the IMCK 2010 with those of the Edinburgh 2010 Common Call and of the Cape Town Commitment 2010. The article consists of mainly three parts. First part of the article analyzes the materials for the IMCK 2010: The article describes the background of the IMCK 2010, discusses briefly 100 scholarly articles which were delivered in the 10 sections of the IMCK 2010, and arranges the main points of the articles. The second part discusses the features in the Conference by analyzing the suggestions shown in the materials. Additionally the article examines contents of the Manifesto of IMCK 2010 and compares with the Edinburgh 2010 Common Call and the Cape Town Commitment of the Lausanne Committee. The three documents keep the missiological concepts in common, based on recognition of the globalized missiological context such as reconciliation. The third part discusses a possibile formulation of the missiology of the Korean churches. It includes the integral mission based on the Biblical foundation, critical examination on the scholarly discussions on the existing missiology in the mission fields, and comprehensive missiology in the Korean ecumenical context, and developing strategies for the integral mission. Due to the IMCK 2010 the discussions on a formulation of the Korean missiology will be expected to motivate a Biblical-contextual integral missiology centering the various mission fields, promising active mission of the Korean churches in the future. Conclusively the IMCK 2010 causes the Korean churches to reflect their missiological activities to start discussing their missiology for the future generations.
