생활시설 퇴소장애인의 자립생활에 영향을 미치는 요인

A Study on Factors Affecting Independent Living of Persons with Disabilities Discharged from Institution

본 연구는 생활시설 퇴소장애인의 자립생활에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하고 이에 따른 자립생활을 증진시킬 수 있는 서비스 개발에 활용할 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하는 데 있다. 연구대상은 과거 생활시설에 거주한 경험이 있는 18세 이상 성인장애인으로 퇴소기간이 5년 이하인 135명을 대상으로 하였으며, 위계적 중다회귀분석방법을 통해 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 성별, 결혼 유무, 장애수용, 직원과의 연락빈도 등이 전체자립생활에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자립생활 하위요인별로는 결혼유무는 신체적 자립생활에 그리고 성별, 결혼유무, 장애수용과 자존감, 퇴소 후 직원과의 연락빈도 등은 심리적 자립과 사회적 자립에 공통으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 직업유무와 시설에서의 직업교육유무는 경제적 자립에만 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 생활시설 퇴소장애인의 자립생활 증진을 위해 생활시설 요인, 심리적 요인, 사회적 요인 등의 차원에서 개선방안을 제안하였다.

The purpose of the study is to find factors affecting in independent living of persons with discharged from institution in South Korea. The research data was gathered by collecting from services users recruited from thirty-seven disability organizations and centers in South Korea. The survey was limited to persons with disabilities over age 18 and less than 5years discharged from institution. The samples of the study consisted of 135 persons with disabilities who had experience to been lived in an institution. The data were analysed using SPSS program. Frequency, T-test, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis were used. The findings of the study are as follows. The factors affecting the level of independent living were gender, marital status, disability acceptance, relationship with staffs. On the basis of these results, this study provided the suggestions for social work practice for some strategies in long-term residential institutions, community welfare centers and social policy of improving independent living of persons with disabilities discharged from institution.
