청각장애인의 사회경제적 특성이 정보격차 발생에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

A Study on the Effects of Socio-Economic Characteristic of People with Hearing Impairment on the Occurrence of Information Gap - Focused on the Mediating Effects of Literacy -

본 연구는 청각장애인의 사회경제적 특성인 직업과 가구소득이 정보접근 정도에 미치는 영향과 문해능력의 매개효과를 분석함으로써, 정보격차로 어려움을 겪고 있는 청각장애인들을 위해 제도 및 정보접근 환경을 개선하는데 고려해야 할 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 청각장애인 241명을 대상으로 서베이 조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 빈도분석, 상관관계분석, 신뢰도 검증을 실시하였으며, 본 연구의 핵심인 독립변수가 매개변수에 미치는 영향과 매개변수가 종속변수에 미치는 영향의 관계를 파악하기 위해서 Baron과 Kenny의 위계적 중다회귀분석과 Sobel Test를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 문해능력이 높을수록 정보접근 정도가 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며, 가구소득이 높을수록 문해능력이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 문해능력이 가구소득과 정보접근 정도 사이에서 매개변수로 작용하고 있음을 확인하였다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 청각장애인의 정보격차 해소를 위한 방안을 제언하였다.

The purpose of this study is to provide basic data which should be considered when reforming the institution and information accessibility environment for the people with hearing impairment, who experience difficulty due to information gap, through analysing the effect of occupation and household income, which are socio-economic characteristics, on the degree of information accessibility and the mediating effects of literacy. For this, 241 people with hearing impairment was surveyed. The frequency analysis, correlation analysis and reliability test was done with the collected data and in order to grasp the relationship between the effect of independent variables on mediating variable and the effect of mediating variable on dependent variable hierarchical multiple regression analysis and Sobel Test of Baron and Kenny was carried out. As a result, it was found that as the level of literacy is higher the degree of information accessibility increase and as household income is higher the level of literacy is high as well. Moreover, the study verified the role of literacy as the mediating variable between household income and the degree of information accessibility. Based on such results of this study, plans are proposed to resolve the information gap of the people with hearing impairment.
