Preference of Folk Painting Pattern among University Studentes

In this study, preference by the subject of male and female college students was grasped by folk painting material to look into what effect is made on visual image by the color effects of embroidery goods in application of most favored folk painting. First, as the result of surveying folk painting preference, pictures of flower-bird and lotus-flower showed the highest preference and shamanism the lowest preference. Second, as a result of analyzing difference in folk painting preference by personal traits, gender gap was shown in paintings of lotus flower, uneven rock, Choonhyang story, four traditional gods, San kuo chih, Shui-hu chuan and armored squad, with propensity of males favoring things masculine and females things feminine. By age, too, picture of peony and geographical picture of hills and waters were favored the more with age, while leather brush painting was favored more by young age group.
