This study aims to analyze the writing tasks for the development of Korean textbooks as a second language. This study will help improve the quality of contents in Korean textbooks. Recently, many teachers have been using the Communicative Language Teaching method and the Task-Based Instruction method when they taught Korean as a second language, because the purpose is the development of the learner’s communication ability. We should know how Koreans use their language and then reflect this onto the students. Unfortunately, there is not much study on this topic. The education of expressions are composed of speaking and writing. However, when most teachers evaluate a learner’s communication skills, they put more emphasis on the learner’s ability to speak and underestimate the importance of writing. This study aimed to address the effectiveness of Korean writing education through the various assignments given. Chapter 2 was an analysis of teachers, and chapter 3 was analysis of textbooks currently being used to teach Korean as a second language. Finally, chapter 4 discussed the necessary improvements that need to be made in the textbooks that are currently being used.
