사이버대학교에서의 강의평가 분석과 적용

The Analysis of Course Evaluation in Cyber Universities

본 연구는 사이버대학교에서 강의평가를 조사하기 위하여 시행되었다. 학습자들의 강의 평가는 교육의 질을 높이기 위하여 필수적이며, 특히 원격으로 이루어지는 강의에서는 더욱 그러하다. 학습자들의 강의에 대한 정직하며 솔직한 의견은 원격교육을 발전시키는 데에 유용하게 쓰일 수 있다. 이 연구에서는 다양한 사이버대학교에서 사용되고 있는 강의평가의 문항들을 분석하고 온라인 평가문항에서 사용되는 분야에 따라 분류한다. 또한 각 학교에서 강의평가가 어떻게 시행되며 그 결과는 어떻게 활용되고 있는지도 함께 살펴본다. 결과로 몇 대학에서는 강의평가 문항에 있어서 균형 잡히지 않은 분야가 있음이 발견되었다. 따라서 강의평가 문항은 좀 더 세심하게 구성될 필요가 있음을 제안하게 되는데, 그러할 때 강의 평가는 종합적 목적뿐 아니라 형성적 목적을 위해서도 사용될 수 있을 것이다. 본 결과는 온라인강의를 위한 실용적이면서도 의미 있는 문항을 개발하기 위한 지침을 제공해 준다.

This study is to investigate the course evaluation in cyber universities. The student course evaluation is essential to assure the quality of instruction, especially for courses offered at a distance. Students' honest and frank opinions prevailed through course evaluations can be used to improve or restructure the instructions delivered at a distance. The purposes of this study are to analyze course evaluation forms being used at the various cyber universities and to classify the dimensions used in online course evaluation questionnaires. Besides, it sees how the course evaluation is done and used in each school. As a result, it is found that there are some unbalanced area in the course evaluations of a few universities. It is suggested that the course evaluation should be done with more elaborated questionnaires. Then, the course evaluation can be used not only for a summative purpose but also for a formative purpose. The result provides a guideline for evaluation practitioners to design and develop practical and meaningful questionnaires for evaluating online courses.
