학교 예술강사의 수업실태에 대한 연구

A study on the actual conditions of art lecturers’ lessons in school environment

본 연구는 학교현장에서 실시되고 있는 예술교육에 대한 예술강사들의 경험과 느낌을 탐색하고 올바른 방향으로 예술교육이 활성화되는데 도움을 주기 위한 목적으로 실시하였다. 설문자료는 예술 강사 64명으로부터 수집하였으며 초등학교 교사 2명을 대상으로 면담 자료를 수집하였다. 연구 결과, 예술 강사들은 학교 분위기와 교실 환경 등으로 가르치는 활동에 어려움을 겪는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 학교환경의 ‘폐쇄성’과 ‘예술수업에 대한 무관심’은 예술 강사들의 수업에 부정적인 영향을 미치고 있다. 특히, 예술 강사들은 자신의 수업 아이디어를 구체화하여 표현하는 것에 어려움을 느끼고 있다. 본 연구를 통해, 예술교육이 학교현장에서 올바른 방향으로 나아가기 위해서는 예술교육에 대한 학교당국 의 올바른 이해 및 현직교사들의 인식 변화가 필요하며 현행 예술교육의 긍정적인 면은 극대화시키면서 부정적인 면을 최소화시키는 방향으로 예술교육 시스템을 설계하고 개발할 필요가 있다는 사실을 파악할 수 있었다. 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 학교현장에서 이루어지는 예술 강사들의 수업방법의 신장 방향과 향후 연구 방향에 관하여 제언하였다.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the art lectures‘ teaching experiences and to explore the educational meaning in order to improve the art education in right direction. In this study, data were open questionnaires and in-deep interviews. Open questionnaires were from sixty-four art lecturers and in-deep interviews were from two elementary school teachers. The results of this study indicated art lectures had trouble teaching students in the school climate and classroom environment. In additions, ’closeness‘ of school environment and’indifference to art education in school‘ had a negative effect on the art lecturers’ lesson and teaching method. The art lecturers felt that it is difficult to embody their lesson idea. According to the results, we need a sound understanding of school authorities and teachers’ correct perception in order to improve the art education in the right direction. We found that education officials should design and develop arts the education systems in a way to maximize the positive aspects of the current arts education systems and to minimize the negative aspects. Based on the results, implication to the development of teaching method for art lecturers and future research directions were discussed.
