생태주의에 기초한 시각문화교육 방안

A program for visual culture education based on ecologism: Focusing on lessons of the Public Service Ads

생태주의는 사회구조적 변화와 인간의 도덕적ㆍ윤리적 가치관의 변화를 추구하며 우리가 당면한 전 지구적 위기들을 극복하고자 하는 철학적ㆍ사회적ㆍ문화적 대안으로 타문화에 대한 이해와 모든 집단의 차이를 인정하고자 하는 포스트모더니즘 시대의 시각문화와 관련성을 갖는다. 본 연구는 ‘가치화과정’ 모형을 적용하여 현대 사회의 다양한 양상을 맥락적이고 통합적으로 접근하고자 하는 시각문화교육을 통해 생태적 가치관을 향상하고 내면화하도록 하는데 목적이 있다. 생태적 가치관 향상의 차이를 검증하기 위해 공익광고 디자인 수업을 실험집단을 대상으로 총8차시 협동학습으로 적용하였고 이용우의 ‘생태적 가치관 척도’를 도구로 통계처리 SPSS ver 12.0을 사용해 독립표본 t검증을 실시하여 생태주의에 기초한 공익광고 디자인 수업이 생태적 가치관을 증진하고 내면화하는데 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 결과를 도출하였다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 오늘날의 생태적 위기를 극복하고 지속가능한 미래사회를 설계해 나갈 수 있는 힘의 토대를 마련할 교육적 대안을 제시하고자 한다.

Ecologism is a philosophical, social and cultural alternative for overcoming global crises we are now faced with, pursuing changes in both social structure and moral, ethical values of human beings. It is related with the visual culture in Post Modernism where the understanding of diversities in different cultures and groups is encouraged and valued. This study aims to promote and instill ecological values into students through visual culture education which approaches various aspects of modern society in a contextual and integrated manner, applying the “valuation process” model. To verify the difference in improvement of ecological values, lessons on public service ads have been given to the test group in a total of 8 sessions. Independent sample t-validation has been conducted using ecological values test by Lee Yong Woo and the SPSS ver 12.0. Accordingly, it has been concluded that design lessons on public service ads based on ecologism have a positive effect on promotion and internalization of ecological values. Therefore, this study aims to present an educational alternative that will prepare the grounds for designing a future society which will overcome today’s ecological crises and sustain.
