배추 자엽에서 NaCl에 의해 유도된 산화스트레스에 대한 산화질소(Nitric Oxide)의 항산화 역할

Treatment of chinese cabbage seedling plants with a 50 μM sodium nitroprusside (SNP: a donor of nitric oxide ) significantly improved their tolerance to 200 mM NaCl-induced oxidative damage. Cotyledon injuries, including losses of chlorophyll, protein, and fresh weight were remarkably alleviated. In additions, large accumulations of H₂O₂ and malondialdehyde (MDA) contents were reduced. Our analysis of major antioxidant enzymes in the cotyledons showed that SNP treatment effectively retarded typical NaCl-induced declines in the total activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT), while guaiacol peroxidase (GPX) activity was largely increased. From our results, we can conclude that nitric oxide (NO) may function as antioxidant protector by regulating of activities of SOD, CAT and GPX enzymes in chinese cabbage plants exposed to NaCl.
