유리의 투명성과 화려한 색상을 이용한 사무공간 환경개선 방안 연구

A Study on the Glass Works for the Environmental Improvement of Office

본 연구는 연구자가 거주하는 도시주거공간에 대한 문제점을 자각하고 그것에 대한 개인적개선 의지에서 출발하였다. 특히, 한국의 근대화 과정에서 획일적으로 대량 복제된 사무공간이 오늘날 도시주거자의 주거 및 생활공간으로 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있다는 점에 본 연구의 중요성이 있다. 연구자는 획일화되고 비 개성적인 도시의 사무공간을 물리적, 심리적으로 확장시키고 다면화된 공간으로 변화시키는 유리조형물을 만들고자 하였다. 연구자는 유리와 빛이 공조하여 만드는 반짝임, 색의 화려함, 다면의 공간을 극대화하기 위하여 유리조형물을 오목 또는 볼록한 형태로 구성하였고, 조형물 내부와 외부에 인공조명을 설치하였다. 이렇게 장식적 효과를 갖는 조형물을 실제 사무공간에 설치하여 그 효과를 분석하고자 하였으며, 실제로 설치되지 못한 작품은 가상의 공간에서, 또는 다른 유리작가들의 작품설치 사례를 통해 그 효과를 가늠해 보고자 하였다. 벽면에 설치된 작업들은, 퓨징 기법을 통해 만들어진 패턴화된 색유리들이 빛의 반사와 굴절을 통해 다면적으로 시각적 화려함을 부여하는 장식기능을 함으로써 공간에 다양성과 활력을 부여해 준다.

This study was initiated to personally improve the problems in the city living space of this researcher, which he himself found out about directly. In particular, this study has significance because the business spaces that have been replicated across Korea during its modernization play a very important role as housing and living spaces for city dwellers today. This researcher endeavored to make a glass artwork that expands physically and psychologically office spaces, which are usually uniform and have no individuality. This researcher, in order to maximize shininess from glasses and lights, the splendor of colors, and multi-dimensional spaces, constructed a glass artwork with concave and convex shapes and installed artificial lightings inside and outside of the artwork. And by installing an artwork that has a decorative effect in real residential and office spaces in this way, the researcher tried to analyze the effects and to estimate, in virtual spaces, the effect of artworks which are not installed. Glass artworks installed on walls infuse spaces with diversity and energy through decorative effects that give a multi-dimensional feeling, and enhance visual splendors through the reflection and refraction of lights coming from patterned colored glasses made by the fusing method.
