Tourism industry is a source of foreign currency acquirement and promotes employment of new workers. Hence, tourism development is able to become an effective tool to reduce poverty and achieve economic development in developing countries. However, as economy grows, the environment is apt to be harmed by an influx of tourists and merchants from outside. Wherein, this research showed major environmental issues, such as water pollution and lack of water supply, and revealed economic effects in the case of Lijiang City, China. Estimates economic effect, tourism industry has produced 25.526 billion RMB of the total amount of economic effect and 259,874 people of the total number of employed workers by tourists’ consumption expenditures.
