This article is aimed at the analysis of Russian - Mongolian trade relations by Chuiskiy road between Altai district (as the part of Tomsk province) and Northwestern Mongolia which took place in the period of the second half of the XIXthandthebeginningoftheXXthcenturies. The paper embraces some important facts about volume and range of trade; besides that the author pays close attention to the characteristic features of Siberian merchants, especially their social activity.
