To find out the effect of Indian head massage on stress and body changes among young office workers in their twenties and thirties, this study analyzed biological signals and investigated the physical and mental stress and satisfaction of 14 office workers (7 men, 7 women) who have been suffering from hair loss for less than a year from June 13 to July 15, 2011 (for 33 days). In terms of body change (assessment of physical activity, analysis of autonomic balance, diagnosis of central nervous system modulation levels, evaluation of cerebral activity) and changes in physical and mental stress and satisfaction, statistical significance was observed in assessment of physical activity, diagnosis of central nervous system modulation levels and evaluation of cerebral activity while no significant difference was detected in analysis of autonomic balance. In physical and mental stress, improvement was observed in ‘stiffness in the neck or shoulders,’ ‘sleep disorder,’ ‘I can’t get the anxiety out of my head’ and ‘I feel dejected and fatigued.’ In terms of satisfaction, improvement was found in ‘scalp became clean,’ and ‘I feel fewer hot flashes on my scalp.’ Therefore, it is expected that the experimental model proposed in this study, with which the effect of Indian head massage on the improvement of quality of life and body changes among office workers in their twenties and thirties could be used in various fields and helpful in improving quality of life and health. Further study on the model is required.
