A Study on Effective Wedding Makeup using Personal Colors

This thesis evaluated objective beauty by applying personal colors obtained from individual color diagnoses to wedding makeup. A comparative analysis was carried out on image changes by applying the shadow colors and lipstick colors including foundation colors in warm colors and cool colors respectively to models who were selected for samples applicable to warm colors and cool colors using the personal color diagnosis system. In order to keep objectivity in the facial image changes, this study allowed 20 persons majoring in makeup to observe facial image changes. The results from image changes were determined only if the majority of the observers recognized the facial image change. Through the study, the following findings were observed. First, more positive responses were seen from models when more makeup colors in the same class group were used rather than colors in a contradictory class group after the personal color diagnoses. Second, the images, emotions and psychological effects unique to each color appeared to have affected the image as a whole when they were applied in the same way to the makeup colors which were applied to the extremely small areas like the eye shadow colors or lipstick colors. Third, while models in warm colors showed results with the makeup which is not harmonized to some extent in the contradictory makeup depiction, cool color models demonstrated results with the makeup which is harmonized to some extent even in the contradictory makeup depiction comparing to warm color models. Fourth, the type of colors for the inherent body did not change characteristically, but the results showed that the color or tone within the type can be changed as a result of experiments. Considering these results, the image improving effects for wedding makeup can be sufficiently shown only by applying the right makeup colors obtained from personal color diagnosis results to individuals.
