In terms of improvement of aerobic exercise, health management and stress control, the physiological effects of massage were as follows: 1. In the control group, even though the body fat levels decreased, no significant difference was found. 2. After massage was given, a significant increase (p<.001) in beauty industry workers’ maximal oxygen uptake was observed. In the control group, even though the maximal oxygen uptake level increased, no significant difference was found. 3. After massage was given, a significant decrease (p<.001) in beauty industry workers’ cortisol levels was observed. In the control group, even though the cortisol levels decreased, no significant difference was found. According to the results above, it can be concluded that massage has a positive effect on the improvement of aerobic exercise capacity and stress reduction for beauty industry workers. However, further studies need to be performed by classifying beauty industry workers into hairdressers, estheticians and nail artist.
