외국어교육에서 어휘다발 분석을 위한 어구색인 프로그램의 소개와 비교

Mutli-word expressions such as collocations and lexical bundles are very important for efficient communication in both oral and written discourse. In other words, the effective use of the multi-word expressions contributes to successful and fluent linguistic production and comprehension as they are a major component of discourse. Even though many linguists and applied linguists have emphasized the role that lexical bundles play in the production and comprehension of language, relatively little attention has been paid to this line of research. The present study reviews the concordance programs that extract collocations, lexical bundles and formulaic sequences, which have recently gained research interests and pedagogical attention in the field of foreign language teaching and learning. The study analyzes six concordance programs (i.e., AntConc, Compleat Lexical Tutor [N-Gram], kfNgram, Collocate, WordSmith and ConcGram) in terms of the criteria such as user-friendliness, frequency information, efficiency and statistical information. The results of the analysis show that AntConc, kfNgram and N-Cram could be useful to foreign language teachers and learners due to their user-friendliness and efficiency and that WordSmith, kfNgram and ConcGram could be useful to researchers interested in the statistical analysis of lexical bundles.
