A STUDY ON EVALUATION OF VISITORS’ SATISFACTION IN SCIENCE MUSEUM - In the case of National Science Museum -

We live in the times when the change of science and technology has a good place to develop the science mind of people. Therefore, it is very important to examine the characteristics of exhibits at the science museum and visitors’ perception of the science museum. Present situation shows that group visit is a major form of visit to science museum. Based on the theoretical backgrounds on the relationship between museums and visitors, in this study the actual conditions of the museum were investigated and researched on the basis of the visitors’ opinion who visit in National Science Museum. The 20 team were surveyed on the degree of satisfaction. In this study, the tracking survey was carried out by measuring the visitors flow, the total time in the museum, the time in each room, and the time for an object to analyze the levels of their satisfaction, learning, and fatigue. The questionnaire survey was also conducted to see their opinions on the museum. The results are as follows. National Science Museum operation geared basically to creating science climate for teenagers and adults which enhance them to learn science first hand. Exhibits in the area of basic science physics were primarily, but the distribution of the subjects was not sufficient, and the explanations were inadequate. With regard to the question whether the science museum arouse interests in science and helped to learn science, most visitors responded “yes”. However some responded “no” on the ground that exhibits only stimulate interest in science without further development. The science museum not only extends science education to the world outside the school but also raises student’s interests in science. linking things of daily life and art to science technology. Therefore, it would be necessary to carry out this following in order to develop a more effective way of visiting in National Science Museum.
