In this paper, we examine the relationship between language and culture and reflect the current state of being in Korean language education. It begins by stressing the vital importance of intercultural education and the progress that has been made in recent times. And presents the roles of language in comparative cross-cultural communication settings. Then we examines the usage of cartoons as cultural materials, which drawn by Japanese housewives living in Korea. Language learning is inseparable from its cultural context. Thus we face the necessity of intercultural understanding. Moreover, the emphasis on the link of languages and culture and experience of the foreign culture in and through the language means. For that reason it is expected that Foreign language teaching materials should include elements of the target language culture. But that is not a simple question. One of the most difficult problems confronting Foreign language teaching is the choice of adequate instructional materials. What should students learn about a foreign culture ro be able to function in that culture? In this situation, we examine the cartoons as a textbooks for intercultural communication, especially the cartoons drawn by Japanese housewives living in Korea, named "living in Korea of Newlywed Bride Yokojjang" The comprehensive nature of intercultural learning by cartoons of "Living in Korea of Newlywed Bride Yokojjang" means that First, it provide the cultural learning items because of it based on aaual experience, Second its cross-cultural approach to facilitate a one-sided 'assimilation' rather than 'intercultural understanding'. Third, to foster as the ability to enter Korean cultures and communicate effectively. Forth, can suggests the possibility of in conjunction with an existing textbook content a intercultural rationale for language teaching is required to integrate aspects of communication and education.
