The Purpose of this essay is to analyse the relationship between the History and Individuals in the narrative of che novel F Doctor Zhivagoj , Pasternak depicts contemporaries who unquestioningly accepted the Soviet doctrine and simultaneously juxtaposes persons, who did not want to lose the value of the Individual despite of social group's oppression in the novel. Zhivago's main aim is to pteserve his personality and creativity. Although he indirectly participates in the Russian Revolution and wars, he refuses to alignment with revolution's ideal. In the face of Revolution, he trembled at the greatness of a tremendous history. But after the Revolution, when the Communists force him to comply with socialist ideas and doctrine as a member of Narod, he rejects Communists's demands, and in order to preserve his own spiritual independence, leave fat the refuge of life. Socialist realism regards man as a "political existence" whose behavior patterns should be determined by social and economic conditions. Bur Zhivago always regards man as a "Individual". Zhivago considers contemporary ideology and political ideas as mortal things, and concentrates on the profound truth. And he treasures man's personality and tries to protect personal dignity. They have become fundamental qualities of humanity, distinct from contemporaries buried in the ideology.
