국내 화물자동차운송업의 경쟁우위 결정요인에 관한 실증적 연구

A Study on the determinate factors of competitive superiority in the freight transport business

화물자동차운송엽은 국민경제에서 매우 중요한 역할을 담당하고 있는 산업으로 지난 30여년간 고용창출 및 수출증진에 많은 기여를 하여 왔다. 그러나 화물자동차운송업은 최근 유가상승, 급격한 인건비의 상승과 인력부족의 심화, 과당경쟁 등으로 심각한 경영난을 겪고 있다. 이러한 급속히 변모한 기업경영 환경속에서 화물자동차운송업은 생존을 위한 현실적 방안을 모색하지 않으면 안되게 되었다. 이에 본 논문은 물류산업의 중요한 역할을 수행하는 화물자동차운송업의 경쟁우위 요인을 파악하고, 이에 대한 분석을 토대로 화물자동차운송엽의 나아갈 방향을 제시하고자 노력하였다. 본 연구를 통한 국내 화물자동차운송업의 시사점은 단순한 화물운송의 수준에서 벗어나 원스탑 물류서비스를 화주에게 제공할 수 있는 물류전문기업으로 발전해 나가야 할 것이다. 이를 위해 전문인력을 양성하고 부가서비스 확대 및 강화를 위해 업계는 최선을 다해야 할 것이다. 한편, 정부차에서는 화물자동차운송업의 육성 및 발전을 위해 사회간접시설의 학충과 화불자동차운송업 관련법과 제도적 장치의 보완을 통해 보다 효율적으로 화물자동차 운송업체가 기업을 운영할 수 있도록 환경조성을 위한 지원을 아끼지 말아야 할 것이다.

The freight transport business has performed important role in the economic development of Korea, based on effect of big employment making and export increasing. But now the freight transport business experience hardships by a rapid rise of oil price and labor costs, manpower problems, overheated competitions between the companies etc. The freight transport business cannot find any other choice but to seek any realistic formula to win survival on such urgently changeable environment of business. Therefore this paper tries to figure out the determinate factors of competitive superiority in freight transport business that carry out an important part in logistics industry, and based on such analysis, to suggests the future pathway for freight transport business. And the suggestions for the freight transport companies through this paper are that such companies should not settle down with simple transport service, but they must turn themselves into more sophisticated professional logistics companies, which can provide one-stop logistics service to goods holders. To do so, they should trans experts and do therir best to expand and strengthen additional service. Besides, the government needs to continue to support to set up the product and the freight transport company-friendly environment by amplifying social overhead infrastructures and revising regulations and systems related to the freight transport business so that they can manage themselves more efficiently.
