Since the previous studies of outwear such as women’s wear and men’s wear have shown different results in terms of product types and brand origines, it is worthwhile the distribution intensity of underwear industry is investigated between 1997 and 1998. Three study questions are made based on the data of ‘1998 Korea Fashion Guide’ published in 1997, that is, before IMF and ‘Korea Fashion Brand Directory’ in 1998, that is, after IMF. 83brands have been analyzed with percentage and pearson’s correlation in each year. As a result, the distribution intensity of innerwear has significantly related to the total sale and the launching period in 1997 and 1998. The distribution intensity of lingerie has significantly related to the price and the total sale before IMF on the other hand only the total sale has been significantly related after IMF. In the case of brand origines, the distribution intensity of the national brand has significantly related to only the total sale before and after IMF. It has been shown that the distribution intensity of the imported brand has significantly related to the total sale and the launching period before IMF and only th total sale after IMF. Thus, underwear has also shown different results in terms of product types, brand origines and the condition of economy.
