A Review on Logistics Outsourcing for Freight Forwarders

Today's business reality requires organizations to become increasingly more efficient in managing their logistics resources function. Attracting, retaining and developing a factors of logistics resources professionals and keeping up-to-date with the latest technology can prove difficult and costly for many organizations. The purpose of this study is to analyze logistics outsourcing for Freight Forwards as Third-party on customer services attributes of freight forwarders in Korea, and to strengthen the competitiveness of customer services by Korean freight forwarders. This research looks into outsourcing of services factor from the process of shipping order to the various activities before/after shipment by exporters as customers and analyzes service performance. Similarly, the items which are highly important after shipment such as 'quick settlement of cargo claims', 'issuing correct B/L', 'safe cargo transportation' and 'proper transit time to destination' also should be improved with increasing costs for the high service standard, and the remaining items which are relatively low important may be maintained with existing services.
