There are some lexical misuses recurring persistently regardless of learning stages in the acquisition of Japanese. In order to minimize and correct those problems we need to study what is really happening in learning Japanese and to analize what might cause such misuses. This paper attempts a contrastive analysis between Japanese and Korean. We assume that there is some kind of native language interference in learning another language. This study would reveal that there is one-to-one correspondence between Japanese and Korean in the usuage of lexical items. This contrastive analysis would result in some regular patterns in applying the knowledge of Korean into that of Japanese. The result may contribute improving Japanese language teaching skills. In this study these are three sections, which focus the differences and the sameness of the lexical items in the usuage and the meaning of Japanese and Korean:word-form and meaning, domain of meaning, co-restriction.
