A Study on the Analysis of Industry Structure And Competitive Advantage of Financial Industry

This research analysed banking industry by utilizing Port r s analysis of industrial structure and gives insight to structural characteristics of the structure of banking industry which determine mode of competition and rate of return of banks. This analysis helps to estimate whether the industry will grow or decline and to know how the banks react to change the current industrial structure for their benefit and what are the key factors to success in the industry. Corporation In the industry must have competitive advantage to succeed there, which comprises cost advantage or discrimination advantage. For that they must utilize internal resources adequately, building and keeping competitive advantage. Porter’s value chain analysis gives insights to how to gain competitive advantage from production activities of corporations. In this study the analysis was performed on Citi Corp.
