고등학생의 학교 유형과 성별에 따른 행복 비교

The Comparison on the Science gifted and General Adolescent's happiness

본 연구의 목적은 과학 고등학교 남녀학생과 일반 고등학교 남녀학생들의 행복을 비교하고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 서울에 소재한 과학고 1학년 129명(남학생 111명, 여학생 18명)과 인문계고등학교 1학년 학생 163명(남학생 75명, 여학생 88)이었다. 행복은 학업 및 성적, 가족 및 친지, 삶의 목적 및 성취, 경제력, 대인관계, 가치관 및 신념, 건강 등 7개의 하위요인으로 구분하여 분석되었다. 연구 결과 첫째, 과학고와 일반고 간에는 학업 및 성적, 삶의 목적 및 성취, 경제력, 가치관 및 신념, 건강 등의 5개 영역에서 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 과학고와 일반고 모두에서 남녀 간에 유 의미한 행복의 차이가 발견되지 않았다. 셋째, 학교 유형과 성별에 따른 네 집단(학교유형 2 × 성별 2)에서는 학업 및 성적, 삶의 목적 및 성취, 경제력, 가치관 및 신념, 건강 등의 5개 영역에서 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 과학고 학생들이 일반고 학생들보다 더 행복하다고 느끼는 이유로 첫째, 과학고 학생의 경우 중학교 때까지 학업 면에서 우수하여 부모나 교사들에게 긍정적인 피드백을 지속적으로 받았다는 점과 특성화된 교육프로그램을 들었고, 둘째, 어려운 관문을 통과해서 과학고라고 하는 상위권 학교에 입학한 점을 들었다.

The purpose of the present study was compared the science gifted student' happiness and general high school students' happiness. Data were gathered through direct survey to science gifted high school and general high school in Seoul. For the study, 189 science gifted students(male = 111, female = 18) and 163 general high school students(male = 75, female = 88) participated in the study. The results are following: First, there was no significant difference between science gifted high school male and female students in happiness. Second, there was no significant difference between general high school male and female students in happiness. Third, the science gifted high students showed significantly higher happiness compared to the general high student. The possible reasons for the findings were discussed in the light of previous studies. Also implications, limitations and directions of study were suggested.
