A Study on Focalization of Yeom Sangseop's 「Jitjianneun Gae」

「Jitjianneun Gae」is Yeom Sangseop's a short story. I analyzed the work with S. Rimmon-Kennan's focalization theory. I chose the focalization theory as a research method. The focalization theory is composed of two theories. One is extemal focalization and the other is internal focalization. I chose the latter. The latter is composed of three facets. It is perceptual, psychological, ideological facets. In text, perceptual facet exhibited characterfully a limited observer and present-limited focalization. Psychological facet exhibited characterfully an onlooking cognition and inconsistent focalization. Ideological facet exhibited characterfully value-neutrality. And in text, an internal fccalizer exhibited a certain characteristic of genre, It is 'gyosul literature'. In otrer words, "Jitjianneun GaeJ is dose to the 'gyosul literature'. In this regard "Jiljarneua GaeJ have rrany similarities with 「Mansejeon」. But when publish - time of 'Jitjianneun GaeJ considered, we understand that the text performs allegoric criticism about ideologies of those days. In conclusion, a close connection between the focalization and postwar situation would make the meaning clearer.
