〈속미인곡〉의 화자 분석과 작품 해석

A New Analysis of the Speakers and Meaning of Sokmiingok(續美人曲)

송강 정철의 〈속미인곡〉은 작품성이나 문학사적 가치가 높게 평가된 작품이지만 그의 〈사미인곡〉과의 차별성은 명징하게 밝혀지지 않았다. 〈속미인곡〉은 두 화자의 직접 발화로 이루어진 작품인데 어디서 어디까지가 어느 화자의 발화인지를 둘러싸고 아직도 논란이 끊이질 않고 있다. 이러한 논란은 〈속미인곡〉을 통해 작가가 드러내고자 한 핵심 의도가 분명하게 밝혀져 있지 않음을 반증한다. 이 논문은 김상숙이 〈속미인곡〉을 초사체로 번역한 〈속사미인곡〉에 반영된 화자 분석을 바탕으로 〈속미인곡〉의 화자 분석을 새로이 시도하고 그 연장선상에서 작가의 의도를 새로이 규명하였다. 결론적 내용은 이렇다. 〈속미인곡〉은 〈사미인곡〉에서 통합되어 서술자와 화자(여성)를 두 화자로 분리 독립시켜 설정하고 있다. 이러한 설정을 통해 〈속미인곡〉은 〈사미인곡〉에서는 표현할 수 없었던 군주와 측근에 대한 불만과 비판, 정계 복귀에 대한 강한 열망을 곡진하게 표현할 수 있게 되었다는 것이다.

Sokmiingok, a continuation of Samiingok(思美人曲, Song of Missing the King), is one of well known works of Jeong Cheol(鄭澈), but the difference between the two are not elucidated up to now. It can be back up by the fact that the results of all the researcher have not been in accord each others. So this paper tried to analyses its speakers by means of Soksamiingok(續思美人曲) which Kim Sangsuk(金相肅) translated Sokmiingok into Chǔcí's language, and to interpret the writer's intention of the continuation, the reason why he did set up different speakers from Samiingok's. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The lingual text of Sokmiingok can be divided four parts; the first and last part are discourses of a female speaker who is similar to the female speaker of Samiingok, and the other parts are the narrator. While two speakers could not utter different voices in the text of Samiingok, but two ones could in the text of Sokmiingok. 2. Through this establishing speakers, the writer are present his authentic voices which contain discontent against the king, severe criticism against people around to the king, and strong desire for being reinstated in his former position. These voices could not be expressed it the former work, Samiingok, because the narrator and female speaker do not be separated.
