Studies on the Future Strategy Scenarios of Medical Tourism

의료관광은 높은 부가가치와 관련 산업에 대한 경제적 파급효과로 새로운 미래 성장 산업으로 떠오르고 있다. 의료 관광 산업은 보건 의료분야의 법규정, 국내 의료 소비자에게 미치는 영향, 국제경쟁 등 고려해야 할 환경변수가 매우 많기 때문에 관련된 생태계 전반에 대한 다각적인 연구가 필요하다. 특히 플랫폼으로 인한 생태계의 변화는 생태계의 각 참여자들에게 미치는 영향이 크기 때문에 시나리오 방법론을 통해 생태계의 불연속적인 변화에 대응할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 의료 관광의 미래전략에 관한 시나리오 작성을 통해 의료 관광의 산업구조 변화를 전망하고 전략적 의미를 파악하고자 한다. 의료 관광의 산업구조를 의료서비스기관과 이들을 의료 관광객과 연결시켜 주 는 의료 관광 플랫폼으로 구분하고, 분야별 전문가 인터뷰 및 계층화 분석법(AH P)을 통해서 산업의 성장요인과 성장 저해 요인을 파악하여 발생 가능한 시나리오를 작성하였고, 각 시나리오별로 예상되는 전개 양상과 대응전략에 대한 시사점을 도출하였다.

Medical tourism is emerging industry due to its high added value and ripple effect on related industry. Medical tourism industry has a number of environmental factors to consider, for example legal factors or regulations of health and medical industry, global competition and so on. Especially, the changes resulted from medical tourism platform affect significantly on every participant in the ecosystem. Therefore, it is necessary to cope with the discontinuous changes using scenario methodology. This study examines the future strategy of medical tourism by making up scenarios, foresees the changes of medical toursim industry, and finds strategic implications. We classify medical service organizations and medical toursim platform, and diagnosis growth factors and obstacle factors through expert interviews and AHP methodology, and develop storyline and strategic implications of 4 scenarios of medical tourism. Finally, implications and limitations for future research are discussed.
