The aim of this paper is to explain the VP coordination construction which is built not by conjunctive ending but by conjunctive Josa such as ‘-irang’ (and). The main points can be summarized as follows. First, the conjunctive form ‘-irang’ used in VP coordination is merely the conjunctive Josa. Second, to explain the VP coordination by the conjunctive Josa, some broad and generous viewpoint on structure building is necessary, which accepts the constituent [Subj Obj] as well as [Subj [Obj V]] and [Obj V]. Third, the derivation proceeds as following; The conjunctive Josa ‘-irang’ conjoins KPs which only contain arguments without V, resulting in [[KP Subj Obj]-irang [KP Subj Obj]]. Then, the structure changes into VP when V participates in structure building, which means that arguments get scattered by projecting V. Lastly, by the above mentioned structural change and head movement, VP coordination constructions by conjunctive Josa appear.
