공경비 활동에의 공간정보기술 도입의 쟁점과 과제

본 연구는 유비쿼터스 환경 하에서 범죄통제 수단으로서 그 유용성이 증대되고 있는 GIS를 위시한 공간정보기술의 도입, 연계활용 성 제고를 위해 검토되어야 하는 과제를 제시하였다. 공경비 즉 경찰활동상에서의 GIS의 유용성을 증대하기 위한 핵심적인 과제가 위치정보의 취득에 있음을 주지하고, 선행연구를 통해서 도입의 가능성이 논의되고 있는 공간정보기술로서 GIS, GPS, RS의 기술적 개념과 동향을 검토 하였다. 그리고 중국과 일본의 사례를 부분적으로 검토하여 향후, 공경비 활동상에 공간정보기술의 도입 및 연계를 위해 필연적으로 검토되어야 하는 과제들을 중심으로 논의하였다. 주요 검토과제에 대한 논의로서는 첫째, GIS의 활용도 제고측면에서 공간정보의 효율적 활용을 위한 플랫폼 설계 및 위치표시, 둘째, GPS와의 연계를 통한 위치정보 취득, 셋째, RS와 관련하여 위상영상정보를 활용한 공경비 활동 등이다.
