세계유산의 문화경관 유형에 관한 고찰

A Study on the World Heritage Cultural Landscapes

세계유산 등재 형태의 변천 경향을 보면 근래 문화경관이라는 새로운 유형이 중시되는 추세에 있음을 알 수 있다. 이 글은 세계유산협약의 운영지침에서 정의되는 문화경관의 개념과 의의, 범주를 살펴보고, 기존에 등재된 세계유산의 문화경관 유형을 개관하였으며, 그 중에서 산(山) 유산들을 중심으로 현황과 가치·내용을 분석하였다. 이 연구 결과는 유네스코 세계유산의 문화경관 유형, 특히 산 유산에 관해 개괄적으로 파악하는 계기가 될 뿐만 아니라, 향후에 한국의 주요 문화경관 및 명산을 세계유산으로 등재하기 위한 실제적인 논리 구축과 전략 수립에도 도움을 줄 수 있으리라 본다.

According to studies on the inscription of the World Heritage, we can notice that the type of cultural landscape has appeared with considerable attention in recent years. This paper investigates, firstly the concept, attributes and values of the cultural landscape defined in the Unesco Operational Guideline, secondly the type of the cultural landscape-especially the mountain heritages with examples. Through the result of this research, we can overview the cultural landscape and the mountain type of World Heritages, Also it can be of help to establish practical argument and strategy on Korean cultural landscapes and famous mountains for inscription of the World Heritage.
