Due to biological and socio-cultural differences by gender, there has been a disparity in social status and economic roles between men and women. In particular, physical assault on women has been observed because of difference in physical strength by gender. Actually, over 50% of this kind of domestic violence appears during the first five years of marriage. Therefore, it is necessary to make people aware of the severity of domestic violenceand teach them how to cope with marriage conflict before marriage or during the early stage of the marriage. The kind of change in perception may stop domestic violence by building family-friendly social culture and establishing a gender equality-respected society.
