The Study on the Types of Hair Color in 20's Men

The purpose of this study was to offer standard hair color of 20’s men in the South Korea. Furthermore, the study was to determine and differentiate hair color and to set the basic data for the beauty industry in Korea. In this study, photographs of 600 Korean men, age 20’s, were indirectly measured hair color to use Minolta CM-700d. The measurements were analyzed by statistical methods. As a result of basic statistical data analysis, the average value of hair color is L* 15.40(±4.03), a* 1.36(±4.68), b* 1.28(±1.96) in 600 Korean men, age 20’s. This is the standard of hair color. To based on the measured hair color value, We classified hair color type into 3 different types. Type 1 of hair color is L* 5.13(±2.72), a* 0.37(±1.67), b* 0.49(±1.88). A compatible munsell signal is 6.62R 0.53/1.01. Type 2 is L* 16.49(±1.41), a* 1.08(±0.60), b* 0.93(±0.97) and compatible munsell signal is 5.26YR 1.62/0.22. Type 3 of hair color is L* 18.75(±3.69), a* 6.37(±2.24), b* 6.89(±2.36) and munsell signal is 4.43YR 1.85/1.69. This study was used quantified color values by measurement. we provided standard hair color value of south korea men’s and presented typical hair color value as K-mean cluster analysis. This finding is lays the groundwork for analysis of individual color in order to the personal color system of south korea men’s. From all these, we might expect practical use in various beauty industry, makeup, hair styling, personal color consult, image-making etc.
