A Case Study on the Tourism Characteristics of the Traditional Villages: Korean Hahoe and Japan Shirakawa

This is a case study on the tourism characteristics of the traditional villages. We compares with the traditional villages of Hahoe and Sirakawa. As a result, we should find the way to vitalize that and those are follow. First, we should support to the tourism promotion and development. Second, we should encourage inhabitants' to use of the traditional villages. Third, We should make a plan by consultation and participation of local resident. This drawing must be based on inhabitants' agreement rather than have coerciveness. And We are unfold to coincide in development purpose. Fourth, We are try the village to world cultural heritage of UNESCO. By next time, it is participation side of local resident. First, local community become to the tourism production. Second, voluntary participation of local resident are required. Though tourists can experience and understand of culture heritage, sightseeing interchange based on trust between tourists can be available and drive revisit with inhabitants.
