A Physical Planning Approach on the Specialization and Systematization of Tourism Resources: Focused on the Utilization and Development Potential of Tourism Site

The role of the physical planning approach has been largely ignored in existing research into the development of tourism areas. This paper argues that a new approach to the issue of tourism development promotion strategy is required. The data from this study indicates that there are many significant differences in the demographic, attitudinal and behavioral characteristics according to travel purposes and the number of travel companion as well as the tourism resources. The paper demonstrates that natural resources-based tourism destinations show high repeat traveller ratio and can play a cru1)cial role as tourism hub, while rural and cultural resources-based tourism destinations show low repeat traveller ratio and appear to be a low development potential as a tourism hub. The recommendations are made to assist in tackling these problems at an operational level and it is recognized that greater attention must be focused on tourism networking strategy amongst the tourism resources in order to ensure the future effectiveness of the tourist development promotion.
