This study was undertaken to provide proposals for activitizing of theme tourism in Jeon-buk Province. Nowdays tourist market is changing from homogeneous mass market to heterogeneous individual market. Therefore theme tourism as special interest tourism have many implications in aspects to cutural tourist festival and regional tourist product development. Through pilot test, 47 main theme variables in Jeon-buk Province was adopted, and main empirical test was conducted from 23 Sep. to 25 Sep. 2000. Results from this analysis was segmented four sub-theme; core theme(m>4.0) are 7, semi-core theme(m.3.5) are 18, general theme(m>3.0) are 15, marginal theme(m<3.0) are 5. Here core themes among these are Chun-hyang Festival, Giri National Mountain, Naejang National Mountain, Bibimbob and Korean Paper in Jeonju City, Iksan Jewelry, Muju Ski Resort, Gochujang in Sunchang. Proposals for this research are as follows: First, there are needs for making strategical marketing to use core theme or semi-core theme in tourist festival and regional tourist products development. Second, local government need to have system to support and use their original theme in its region. And it is need to build so called ‘Jeon-buk Theme Experience Education Complex’. Here are ethnic religious experience space, traditional arts and heritage experience space, traditional food experience space, health experience space, regional production experience space, natural sports experience space. And sub-facilities can be introduced to one-stop shopping facilities, character products selling corner, playing stages etc. Third, tourist companies has to make use to this theme for tourist product and tourist course development, private sector need to support to research and monitor for sustainable regional image and identity.
