This research propose a theoretical paradigm for examining resident attitudes about tourism. A model based on the social exchange theory demonstrates that resident evaluation of the impacts of tourism and resident support for tourism are dependent on they value. A path analysis based on social exchange theory principles explains how residents weigh and balance seven factors that influence their support for tourism. The potential for economic gain has a direct and positive effect on resident support for tourism. And the recognition of the role environmental attitudes and community attachment play in formulating attitudes toward tourism, the discernment of the need for internal marketing to the community.
