This study is directed towards finding some suggestions for the development planning of Koje Island which is faced with the regional competitiveness in Tourism. For this study, research was conducted at Niagara Falls which is located on the boarder of Canada and U.S.A. during the period of 1 year from 1 Jan, 2002 to 28 Feb, 2003. Niagara Falls is a world-famous tourist destination, attracting over 14million visitors a year. There are various attractions to see and do. Niagara Falls is a connecting junction to all major Canada and U.S. state highways and International Airports. Two cities prepare the tourism development strategies to pay more attention to satisfy the many existing frequent tourists and to create new visitors. Niagara Falls city of Canada is planning special events and festivals. Also to encourage visitors to stay longer. It will open a new Casino in 2003. Buffalo city of U.S.A. is projecting the adventure center which can explore and experience the Niagara Falls. Also to attract tourists. It will introduce the Casino at the Convention center. The empirical study of Niagara Falls case can be adopted in Competitive cities like as Koje and Tongyeong City.
