Leisure can provide a means of social integration and new sources of personal meaning for senior citizen. However, the importance of leisure to life satisfaction should not lead to the conclusion that satisfaction is achieved in all cases through active leisure participation. Thus, the leisure service provider has to consider the individual differences among older persons and allow for both continuity and change. The methods of the study have used a literature analysis and precedent research review. One of the most important recommendations is the need for quality of recreation and leisure services. The second is the overview of the kinds of recreation and leisure services feasible in the nursing home setting. Finally, organizing leisure services within nursing homes should be considered a variety of programming ideas, along with the differences among the senior citizens.
