As logistical environments expands to be more and more competitive recently, service involvements, long term relationship and return on investment become increasingly important. Long term orientation and strategic partnerships are based on the concept of severe competition in the transport industries these days. To become more competitive in international logistics, it is essential that container transportation companies should pursue the requirements of the customers and base management decisions on needs as expressed by the users. The purpose of this paper is to provide the transportation companies with the key factors as expressed by the partners in international logistics. Results indicate that the past experiences, cultural distance, foreign background of international partners not only influnce the performance of the relationship but also affects the long term relationship of the transport system.
