수출입 화물 창고업체의 효율성 분석에 관한 연구

Efficiency Measurement of the Exportation and Importation Warehousing Enterprises - Focusing on Fisheries Products -

In general, the Small and Medium-Sized Cold Storage Warehousing Enterprises (SMSCSWs) operate at poor levels of efficiency. This paper aims to analyze the relative efficiency within the SMSCSWs, to select the relatively low effective companies, and to suggest the improvement strategies for those. This study applies Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) using the 2010’s financial statements of targeted 25 domestic companies. In the current study, selected intrinsic characteristics such as the salaries, costs for vehicles, and rental fees, are considered as possible drivers of the SMSCSW’s performance. The DEA-CCR and DEA-BCC models that respectively correspond to the assumptions of constant returns to scale and variable returns to scale of the SMSCSWs, are applied. As a result, 3 companies are found to be the most efficient ones in the sample. In other words, 22 companies still needed to cut down the costs for more efficient operations.
