A Study on the Implementation of Paperless Trading for the past 20 years and Lessons for the Future

UN/ECE, the Asia Region, under APEC and ASEAN, is making enormous efforts to facilitate Paperless Trading. In this paper, we look back on the implementation process of the paperless trading over the past 20 years. Also, this study has been undertaken in developing countries by reviewing the status of paperless trading and has been studied to provide future direction of paperless trading. Furthermore, this paper examines the Single Window concept and its development in practice over the last 20 years and provide of its development over time. The paper also examines regional trends in Single Window implementation based on a UN/ECE documents issued by various countries such as countries in Africa, Asia, Oceania, Middle East and Latin America in the recent years.
