파력발전의 현황과 전망

The State and Forecast of Wave Power Technologies

해양은 거대한 에너지의 보고이며, 해양이 가진 다양한 에너지원 중에서 파랑은 모든 해역에 폭넓게 분포하고, 가용 에너지원이 풍부하여 대규모로 활용이 가능한 에너지 자원이다. 이와 같은 파랑에너지를 이용하여 전기로 변환하는 방식을 파력발전이라고 하며, 파랑의 위치에너지와 운동에너지를 이용하는 것이다. 본 연구는 이러한 파력발전에 대한 이해를 높임과 동시에 보급을 확대하기 위하여 기술적인 분류 및 국내외 연구개발 현황과 전망, 그리고 현재 국내에서 진행 중인 파력발진 연구개발사업 등에 대해서 검토하였다.

The oceans are an enormous reservoir of energy. One form in which that energy appears is waves. The energy in waves is derived from the wind energy that generates them. Since wind currents are produced by solar energy, wave energy is a renewable source of energy. Present study explains the fundamental principles to capture the wave energy, and the state of research and development of the wave power technologies in the world are introduced. Moreover, domestic activities for the development of wave power technology including a newly suggested wave power generation system are illustrated in detail.
