A Study on Promotion of the South/North Korean Sporths Exhanges

The summit talks between South and North Korea is expected to promote sports exchanges. The sports exchanges in the current situation play an active role in developing the mutual understanding and bringing peace and reconciliation on the Korean peninsula. Also, the sports exchanges will contribute to producing a social and cultural community after reunification as well as creation of environments for the reunification. This paper is undergone to promote sports exchanges between South/North Korea. First of all, this paper compares the difference and similarity between cultural exchange and sports exchange. Then, the paper evaluates the sports exchange between the countries during the past period. Finally, some suggestions and prospect for the sports exchange will be provided. This study may contribute to helping the understanding of the South/North Korean sports exchange and, furthermore, to promote the sports exchange between the two countries.
