Academic Interchanges and Joint Efforts between South and North Korea for the Development of the Korean Language: Achievements and Future Tasks

In this article, the academic exchanges that have been made between the South and North Korea regarding the cause of bringing developments to the Korean letters and language are examined. Also reviewed here are the achievements of such efforts, and the nature of future tasks that lie in front of us. Needless to say, in order to solve problems and bring resolutions to certain issues, methods and methodologies that are well based upon common knowledge should be the ones that would prove most rational and effective. So in the spirit of suggesting an idea that would and also could probably garner support from most of the people, in this article it is suggested to establish a Joint board of South and North Korean representatives for the Development of the Korean People’s Language(only a temporary title), and have all the Koreans, the South Koreans, the North Koreans, and the Koreans living outside the Korean peninsula participate in the activities and sessions of that board.
