In this study the third generation ocean wave models, WAM, Wavewach-Ⅲ and the near shore wave model SWAN are used to simulate wave height for the Typhoon Rusa(0215) and Maemi(0314). The spectrum considered in the model is the action density spectrum rather than the energy density spectrum. Action density is conserved whereas energy density is not conserved. And the action density balance equation model has its special advantages in forecasting near shore waves. In the first place there is solving method comparison for action density equation and simulating wave height for the Typhoon Rusa and Maemi by wave models using non-stationary mode.
