Analysis of Wave Characteristics at Nakdong estuary due to Offshore Wave Direction

In order to estimate wave characteristics of Nakdong estuary, not only meteorological conditions but also offshore wave characteristics may consider. This paper aimed to analyze offshore incident wave condition and wave height characteristics of Nakdong estuary depend on offshore wave direction. The results show that both wave direction NE and SW were usually dominant. We compared wave heights in Nakdong estuary with offshore waves as divided into term of dominant direction to SW and NE. When SW wave directions were dominant, the correlation coefficients range was 0.83~0.91 and when NE wave directions were dominant, the correlation coefficient range was 0.24~0.68. It means that when SW wave directions were dominant it was more efficient for wave characteristics of Nakdong estuary than NE wave directions were dominant.
