「국제이해교육」교과목 운영이 중등예비교사의 다문화적 태도에 미치는 영향

The Effects of Course for International Understanding on Preservice Teachers' Multicultural Attitude

본 연구는 중등예비교사를 대상으로 하는 국제이해교육 교과목을 개발하여 운영하고, 그것이 중등예비교사의 다문화적 태도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 분석하는 데에 목적을 두었다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 유네스코 국제이해교육의 교육목표와 교육내용에 기초하여 전문가 5명의 자문을 거쳐 중등예비교사를 위한 국제이해교육 교과목을 개발하였다. 국제이해교육 교과목의 주요 교육내용은 문화의 다양성, 세계화, 세계시민으로서의 자세, 지속가능한 발전, 교육방법 등의 다섯 영역을 구분하였다. 그 후 15주간의 수업을 통해 중등 예비교사를 위한 국제이해교육 교과목을 운영하고 다문화적 태도에 대한 영향을 분석하였다. 본 연구의 연구목적에 따라 수행 결과를 기초로 하여, 중등예비교사를 위한 국제이 해교육 교과목 운영을 통해 중등예비교사의 다문화적 태도가 긍정적인 방향으로 변화되었음을 확인하였다.

The primary purpose of this study was to develop course for international understanding on pre-service teachers and examine how the experience to take the course was affected on their multicultural attitude. Since Korea has rapidly been becoming a multicultural society, teachers should understand this change and have their multicultural attitudes in a pre-service education. This study was based on pretest-posttest experimental design. 33 pre-service teachers were participated in the study. The course for international understanding was applied to the pre-service teachers for L5 weeks. Before and after taking this 2 credit course, Multicultural Attitude Scale was administrated. To verify the effects of the course, an t-test was conducted. The pre-service reachers' multicultural attitude scores were increased and This positive changes led to take their positive multicultural related action. The outcome of this study showed that the course for international understanding on pre-service teachers was effective to improve multicultural attitude of pre-service teachers. Based on the result, importance and necessity of international understanding education on pre-service teachers was proposed for preparing the multiculturalism society.
