임원경제지(林園經濟志)의 상택지, 이운지, 섬용지 부분 참고 문헌 특성

Characteristic of Yi Wun Ji, Sang Tack Ji, Sum Yong Ji; the references from <Yim Won Kyung Jae Ji>

문헌 저술 시, ‘참고(參考)를 한다는 것’은 저자의 판단 아래, 모범과 당위성을 확보한다는 전제가 있이다. 이 때문에 참고 문헌 자체는 저자의 사상과 당시 시대적 인식을 엿볼 수 있는 가치를 지닌다. 본 논문은 디자인 분야에서 재해석되는 고문헌의 전통 문화를 차용하기에 앞서 조선 후기 대표 문헌인 <임원경제지(林園經濟志)>에 참고된 문헌을 살펴봄으로써， 그 속에 담긴 특성을 인식하고자 하는 사전 작업이다. 디자인 분야에서도 고문헌에 대한 관심 증가와 응용 활동이 다양하게 전개됨에 따라 조선 후기에 저술된 서유구의 <임원경제지>의 활용도 역시 상당하다. <임원경제지>는 사회， 문화， 식생， 건축 등 내용의 범위가 총체적이고， 농민에서부터 상류 문인에 이르기까지 적용 대상을 확장하여 독자의 폭을 넓히고 있다. 또한 그 목적성이 단순한 백과사전식 기술 전수형 농서를 넘어 문인의 품위 있는 생활 유지를 위한 지침서로까지 확장된 성향을 갖고 있어 다양한 관점에서의 활용이 가능하다. 이러한 성향을 토대로， 본 논고는 <임원경제지>의 16항목 가운데 공간 디자인과 관련이 깊은 상택지(相宅志)， 이운지(怡雲志)， 섬용지(贍用志) 부분의 참고 문헌 성격을 확인하여 조선 후기 문인에 미친 영향력을 알아본다. <임원경제지>의 참고 문헌을 살펴봄으로써 내용의 원류 및 수용도를 파악할 수 있다. 또한 현재의 문화적 아이덴티티(Identity)를 갖는 컨텐츠(Contents) 개발 발전에 있어 좀 더 정제된 시선과 관점으로 조선 후기 문화상 이해에 일조할 수 었다.

Design for， the 21st century must place more stress on cultural and emotional aspects, and more over should create a new social value through integration between other fields of study. In order to meet such demand of times, afield study of design is in a progress of paying more attention to ancient literatures and is finding ways to apply them. To illustrate such movement in the design field, we would be taking a close look at one of the ancient records named <Yim Won Kyung Jae Ji> compiled by SEO， Yoo-Goo in the late Cho-sun era. <Yim Won Kyung Jae Ji> was written in a diverse level, including social， cultural， lifestyle and architectural contents. <Yim Won Kyung Jae Ji> targeted wide range of readers (from the upper class intellectuals down to the lower class family) and therefore the book was not only an encyclopedia which had a purpose of simply recording technical knowledge of rural life but also was equipped with a characteristic of an ‘ethical yardstick’ guiding the readers to live a decent and moral life. This paper will thoroughly explore， reorganize and classify the characteristics of ancient records, particularly Sang Tack Ji, Yi Wun Ji, Sum Yong Ji out of the 16-Volumes of <Yim Won Kyung Jae Ji>. Under the writer’s judgemental decision, the mentioned records will be solely used as a reference to picture a clear image of Cho-sun intellectual’s ideological concept and awareness of the historical era. Thus, it would be easy to grasp the basic features and characteristics of <Yim Won Kyung Jae Ji>. Furthermore, it would allow the readers to figure out possible contents that wouId contribute to the development of current generation’s cultural identity and help them to carry out further understanding of the cuItural concepts in the late Cho-sun era.
