기행문 제재의 교육적 가치와 기능에 관한 고찰

A study on travel description text instruction in elementary school

이 연구는 텍스트 중심의 2007 개정 교육과정과 창의인성 계발이 강조되는 시점에서 실용 제재로서 기행문의 특징과 가치에 주목하고, 2007 개정 국어 교과서에 나타난 기행문 수록 현황을 검토한 결과, 실용적 읽기 제재로서 기행문의 현대적 역동성이 충분히 반영되지 못하고 있다는 점을 지적하였다. 이에 여행 체험과 삶의 성찰을 기반으로 하는 기행문의 본질과 기능이 초등학생의 동시대 사회문화 참여 인식 제고나 창의인성 계발에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다는 측면에서, 기행문 제재가 균형적으로 선정되고, 그 역동성이 정교하게 단원 체제 속에 실현되어야 하며, 향후 디지털 교과서 제재로 준비되어야 한다고 보았다.

The paper aims to investigate on a educational possibility of travel description text. Travel description texts have three components: schedule, information, and writer' emotion. So those texts are very unique, showing expository and narrative characteristics. Recently educational programs for developing students' creativity and humanity are stressed. So it is needed that find and revise real texts for educational value. Travel description texts are not only informative but also expressive and emotional. So, those are realization of outside classroom literacy, simultaneously lead students to interest in real world. But, 2007 revised curriculum and textbooks are treated that text case as normal written text, so introduced students to understand that components and showed several text forms. That approach ignored those texts' characteristics. Therefore this paper proposed several ideas for making travel description text as nonfiction materials, developing students' creativity and humanity.
